The renowned watch manufacture Montblanc has released the Star Magie d’Etoiles, a biwitching timepiece for ladies who are looking for a high degree of technical refinement housed in a stylish feminine case.

The Montblanc novelty is definitely a classic of true elegance, distinguished by tactful understatement. As a miniature work of art crafted from 18 karat white gold, genuine mother-of-pearl and 2.215 karats of sparkling diamonds, this horological marvel would accentuate, but never outshine, the personality of the lady who wears it. Only fifteen pieces of this precious little treasure will be manufactured for wristwatch aficionados around the world.

It is a great challenge for jewelry craftsmen to set brilliant-cut diamonds on the thin and extremely fragile mother-of-pearl dial. If not treated carefully, the dial can be broken into pieces or cracked. But even before the brilliant-cut diamonds are set, plenty of artful craftsmanship has already been infused into this superlative watch: to assure that the gemstones scintillate with their loveliest fire, each diamond must first be perfectly cut before it can be inserted, with the utmost precision, into its setting.

The Montblanc brand’s star-shaped emblem has once again appeared on white mother-of-pearl dial. This unmistakable Montblanc star is set with 34 brilliant-cut diamonds at the “6 o’clock” position. The arc, presented on the left part of the dial, consists of 22 pearls, finished with rhodium. Additional 80 scintillating brilliant-cut diamonds sparkle on the watch bezel. The outer circle is also encrusted with 42 gorgeous jewels. Bright white diamonds combine perfectly with the 18 karat white gold case because these precious materials do not compete with one another and because they both reflect the full spectrum of incident light. This harmonious unity is also evident in the white satin wristband, which shimmers with elegant silkiness and is securely closed by a clasp made of 18 K white gold.

The elegant watch is designed around a Swiss-made quartz caliber – MB 4810/103 movement . To indicate that the battery requires changing, the large seconds-hand begins to advance in five-second increments when a fresh battery needs to be inserted.

There will also be a limited edition of ten wristwatches, as a variant of this excellent watch, in white gold cases with black Tahitian mother-of-pearl dials and black satin wristbands. The new Montblanc Star Magie d’Etoiles watch for ladies will be available starting with autumn 2010.
